I am a serving headteacher with over 10 years’ leadership experience in a large Church of England primary school located in an area of deprivation. The school became a stand-alone academy in 2013. I have regularly provided leadership support in other schools, working mainly with inexperienced school leaders and also as an interim headteacher. I have regularly supported governors with the headteacher performance management process. I am currently an associate educational advisor and an additional inspector for Ofsted.
LLE: Nicola Gough

I am Headteacher in a large village primary school north of Lincoln. The school, with nearly 400 pupils, is two form entry. My first headship was in a small village school with 100 pupils. In both headships I have supported other schools with school improvement priorities, in raising attainment and progress.
Welton has high attainment, follows a bespoke creative curriculum, and takes pride in holding the full International School Award. Our global links are strong.
As an outstanding Church School, our Christian values are at the heart of all that we do and the foundation of our school.
Particular strengths of the school include assessment for learning, leading change through mentoring and coaching, tracking of pupil progress and pupil progress meetings, examples of high quality teaching across the primary phase, middle leadership development, appraisal systems, accountability and managing underperformance in teaching and learning

LLE: Ian Randall
Headteacher Reepham CE Primary School
Reepham C of E Primary has 200 pupils and is situated close to Lincoln. We are committed to not only the development of our own school but all schools. We prominently display the proverb: You can't hold a torch to light another's path without brightening your own! Working together makes us all stronger.
There are many areas we can offer support and we are always interested in being part of future projects. We are experienced in working across different contexts from small rural Primaries to larger schools in areas of high deprivation.
Some of the areas we can offer support and guidance include:
Improving teaching and learning: We can work with you on creating a climate where teaching and learning thrive and lessons are focused on learning and progress.
We have outstanding teachers who are able to support different age passes from Reception to Year 6. We regularly have teachers visit us to see excellent practice in English, Phonics and Maths, as well as looking at pace of learning, expectation, high level questioning and pupil engagement. We are also happy to support in other settings.
Outstanding practice and engaging lessons: We have outstanding practitioners who can showcase and support the planning of highly effective teaching and learning. Among other skills we have lead literacy teachers, who can deliver talk for writing and visual literacy training.
Phonics support: The school supports other professionals and Teacher Training Universities with phonics. In recent years we were have been in the top 2% of schools nationally for phonics teaching. We produce videos for Bishop Grosseteste University for use in phonics training.
Leadership Coaching and Mentoring: I have worked across Lincolnshire and beyond with aspiring school leadership. I have Masters level training in coaching and mentoring as well as basic counselling skills meaning I have successfully worked for the local authority in supporting new headteachers and I have worked on programs such as LeadLincs, NPQH and Leadership Pathways supporting senior leadership moving into senior roles. I regularly work with schools and academies on reviewing the teaching and learning, peer moderation, including looking at Self Evaluation, and how to create an ethos and climate for improving practice and learning. We can also work with you on curriculum and assessment development.
Church School Ethos: We can help develop a climate where your schools Christian Values and Ethos can thrive. We received an ‘Outstanding' grading in our most recent SIAMS inspection and The Bishop of Grimsby recently held us up as an example of a church school where the ethos is distinctive and encompassing. He stated: 'The positive and enthusiastic atmosphere was clearly evident and it was heartening to see how the school and community come together in such an effective way.’ I have led presentations for the Diocese and i have also been the strand lead for ‘Wellbeing’ for the Kyra teaching school alliance.
We have guided and supported School Leaders in effective School - Governor working. We can help with reconstitution and our Chair of Governors has previously been seconded by both CFBT and the Diocese to support governance in school from all ends of the Ofsted grading spectrum.
We are happy to work in your school or have you visit us. Should you wish to access any support or if you have any other areas which you feel we may be able to move forward together, do not hesitate to get in contact

Specialist Areas: NQT Provision/ Initial Teacher Training Development/Mentoring/Coaching Models/ Action Research/Development of leadership programmes/Philosophy for Children/ RE Quality markI believe that one of the most important aspects of leadership is to empower and enthuse others to achieve their potential and attain success. Furthermore, it is to encourage change where necessary and embrace opportunities and possibilities that can allow schools to actively work together in order to flourish and develop learning capacity for both pupils and staff. Through my role as ITT/NQT coordinator I have had the opportunity to encourage others in their development and ensure that aspirations are achieved through a mixture of development opportunities, effective mentoring and coaching. I now feel that I am at a stage to share my expertise across schools in a more structured and formalised way that will allow for the development of ‘outstanding’ ITT and NQT provision across schools. Furthermore, I have also been active in developing leadership courses for middle leaders to encourage continuing professional development across the school and thus would be able to assist in the development of these in other institutions.
In addition to the above I also pride myself on being an effective leader of the Religious Education and Philosophy department. SLE: Emily Sopp - English, Phonics, KS1, Curriculum Development
Current Position: English Lead Practitioner
Current School: Priory Witham Academy (Primary)
Phase: Primary
Background & Experience:
I have a range of teaching experience across the whole primary phase, with an emphasis on KS1. Both the teaching and assessment of Phonics has been a priority here which has therefore meant I have been able to effectively implement purposeful teaching and assessment strategies for this.
My roles in schools have ranged from leading an infant team of EYFS-Year 2 to now leading a KS2 team. Alongside this, I have had a variety of curriculum lead roles including History and Geography but the biggest focus has been whole-school English.
Within these roles I have developed the curriculum for infants to ensure consistency across the year groups and also the curriculum design to ensure coverage and the appropriate progression in skills. This has involved: coaching of staff, lesson observation plus analysis, book scrutinies, delivering CPD and data analysis. My role as an NQT mentor has also enabled me to be involved in the development and training of new teachers. I have also developed whole school assessment processes for a range of subjects to ensure coverage, and that pupils’ progress attainment can be tracked. Within English, I have effectively implemented and monitored whole school changes, specifically to the teaching and testing of spelling, whole class reading and the process of writing to ensure the increasing demands of the curriculum are met.

SLE: Rebecca Taylor, English, SPAG, Writing
Current Position: Assistant Headteacher
Current School: Westgate Academy
Phase: KS2
Background & Experience:
Having taught at Westgate Academy for many years, I form part of the Strategic Leadership team as an Assistant Headteacher, Leader of English, Leader of Learning, and I am also a Year 6 teacher.
When the new Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling Assessment was first introduced, I worked rapidly to create SPaG progression ladders for our school and ensured that staff received training to make them fully aware of the demanding expectations of the curriculum. I decided that our school policy would be to incorporate all new SPaG into daily English units so that staff and children could see this new learning in a real context. The impact of my work has had very clear, positive results. End of Key Stage 2 achievement was impressive, with achievement well above national average in the first assessment of 2015.
Since the change of curriculum, there has been a higher expectation of SPaG and greater emphasis on this within writing. Therefore, I have continued to develop staff subject knowledge, assessment procedures and ensured rigorous monitoring and evaluation of this area of the curriculum. SPaG results for 2016 were significantly above the national average for age related and greater depth. This was a real reflection of the way that SPaG has become embedded within our curriculum across all year groups. Our SPaG results continue to be in line with our writing results and this shows the deep understanding our children have.
